The Start

NOTE: The Evalicious blog hop giveaway ends TODAY (Feb. 15) at 8pm PST!
Feb. 17: Winner posted here!

Hello! I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day. I'm not a big fan of the event, except for the cheap chocolate the day after. Back in high school, I had a t-shirt with a robot saying "my plastic heart cannot love" that I'd make sure to wear on Valentine's Day.

... that probably wasn't the best segue into talking about this page!

When I saw the stamp and color scheme of the Studio Calico add-on "Matinee", I thought they would be perfect for these photos. They are from the day my boyfriend and I "officially" started dating again in 2008, and were a great fit for the "this is how our story begins" stamp.

I don't usually make multi-photo layouts, but I thought it'd be nice to change things up. The design of the page is a simple grid. I tried to line up the horizontal grass lines to create a continuous feel, a tip from one of Lisa Truesdell's videos.

To add some depth, I added white spray mist in the center of the page, but unfortunately it didn't show up very well in the photos. I also added some stamping and ink splatters to the corners.

Thanks for stopping by, have a nice weekend!

Products: Studio Calico "Front Row" kit, Studio Calico "Matinee" add-on, Blinks of Life "conversations" stamp
